Plan the Perfect Party in 5 Simple Steps
It’s not Christmas time or Easter, but who needs a reason to plan a little (or huge) get-together with family and friends. And don’t forget, if you’re going to throw a party, you have to throw it the right way
- Pick a Theme
Everyone loves a theme party. If it’s not a special holiday, make it special with a theme! Whether it’s as simple as a dress-up party or even as creative as a murder mystery party, having a theme will take your party to a whole different level. The theme will help you dictate what decorations to buy and what food to make.
- Invite the Right People
Let’s face it, not all of our crowds mix. Take the time and decide how many guests you want to have and what kind of people you’d like to invite. Do you want to have kids there? Family and friends, or one or the other? These are all questions you need to answer while creating your guest list. When it comes to having a successful party, guest chemistry is everything.
- Plan Your Entertainment
Have you ever gone out on a limb and attended a party where you didn’t know anyone, only to find that there was absolutely nothing to do when you got there? It’s everyone’s biggest nightmare. The worst thing that can possibly happen at a party is having bored guests. They can only pet the dog so many times and the chip bowl is getting empty. It is of utmost important that you have some activities planned for your guests. It doesn’t have to be anything special, plug in some music to a sound system, pull out some board games and cards, and maybe have some end of the night Karaoke. That’ll keep the party going for sure.
- Tidy Up
Do not have a party in a messy house. I repeat. Do not have a party in a messy house. Make sure that you give yourself ample time to straighten up and even deep clean your house before your party starts. Nothing says appetite killer like pet dander in the punch bowl. If you feel like you don’t have time to clean your house from head to toe, splurge on a professional house cleaner. It’ll be worth it.
- Have A Loose Schedule
Now I’m not saying you need to have a play by play of every single minute. But having a loose guide of how time should go will help prevent any party lulls from happening. At the very least, you should know when the party starts, when you’re serving food, and when you want everyone out of your house.
